Howdy! My name is Emily Chittenden! I was born in Katy, Texas and raised in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. After a decade of living near the Rocky Mountains, I moved back to Texas to finish my last two years of high school. After starting junior year, I found my second home in the theatre after getting to play Juliet in Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Following my high school graduation in 2018, I pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre (Acting) from the University of Minnesota Duluth, along with an Applied Dance Studies Minor. Even with the pandemic interrupting my college career, I finished my degree with the Class of 2022!
While at university, I was an active participant in my schools DanceWorks performances along with the school's dance club, the Attitudes Dance Association. I even experimented with playwriting by performing a short, autobiographical, one-woman play, featured in a series titled "Flying Solo", directed by my professor Tom Isbell. My script was centered around my experience moving repeatedly across the United States during my childhood and how it affected my transition into adulthood.
As of 2025, I currently reside in Maine (near Bangor) which is where my parents chose to retire. I have always loved being surrounded by nature and snow while studying in Duluth so joining them in the northeast was an easy yes. This past year I starred as Elizabeth Bennet in the production of Pride and Prejudice produced by Ten Bucks Theatre. It was very rewarding to play such an iconic character as well as meet other artists in the Northeast. I'm very eager to pursue more theatre and dance in the New England area.
